Where to Start?

Are you curious about God’s Word? Maybe you aren’t a Christian but you’re curious about the bible. Maybe you’re a new Christ follower, eager to dig into the word but confused about where to start. Maybe you’ve been saved for years but haven’t dug into God’s word for yourself. Whatever the case may be, don’t delay it any longer! It can feel overwhelming but as they say the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step! If this is you, if this is your sign, start with the book of John! Why? It is one of the easier gospels to read. It also emphasizes Jesus’s divinity and humanity. Grow in the grace God has given us! I want to encourage you to read God’s word for yourself, this is how we get to know God and have understanding of him and what Jesus did for us. Pray for the Holy Spirit to help you understand God’s word as you read it, we need God to open the eyes of our heart for us to gain understanding of him, his ways, and his word. As Romans 12:2 says God will change us by the renewing of our mind. I really began to grow some roots when I started studying myself. I was transformed when I started seeking! I didn’t start with a huge knowledge base, I know what it feels like to fumble through the pages looking for what book the preacher is talking about. Don’t let this stop you from seeking. How wonderful it is that we have a God who loves us more than anyone else does, cares for us enough to have a redemption plan for our brokenness, and desires a relationship with us!
