Bloom

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

A couple of months ago I went on a walk through the woods with my girls. It was early spring and some things were just beginning to bloom. We went in search of flowers. We found some amongst the trees, some on sides of hills peaking up from leaves. This caused me to think about the flowers and how they do what they’re made to do wherever they are placed. The flower doesn’t have a choice of where it is planted, but if the conditions are right, that doesn’t prevent it from blooming. It’s wild to me to think about some of the most beautiful plants The Lord has created may only be seen by a few eyes, if any at all. Yet still they do what they were made to do. They bloom, glorifying God with their beauty regardless of if their beauty is ever seen or appreciated by man. Obviously flowers don’t have the ability to make choices as we do. But friend we can learn from nature in that it does what it was made to do wherever it is placed and regardless of if it is ever noticed by anything else. That means a flower, given the correct conditions, still blooms whether it is planted at a palace displayed for all to admire or tucked behind a tree where eyes may never witness its beauty. My point in this is that God has a plan for you! You have purpose! And that is to bloom for His glory wherever He has you planted. It may be extraordinary or super ordinary but in either case, glorify Him. As a mom I have days that appear very mundane, but that’s the tendency of a fickle human perspective! There is something extraordinary about serving Him in those ordinary moments. The enemy would love for you to believe that what you do doesn’t matter. I’ve wrestled with that thinking and it is a lie meant to diminish God’s kingdom. So whoever you are, wherever this finds you — know that you have purpose! Know Him and make Him known, honoring and glorifying Him in whatever you do, wherever you are!

Grow in Grace.
